Crowns & Bridges
Crowns: As with tooth color fillings, today's bonding techniques allow us to place life-like all ceramic, non-metal crowns. When a tooth becomes badly decayed, fractured, or has had a large previous filling, the tooth is weak and becomes susceptible to further breakage, infection, or extraction. A crown is designed to cover and replace tooth structure loss allowing us to fabricate a replacement that stays in the mouth and can be eaten with and cared for like a natural tooth.
Bridges: Bridges (or fixed bridges) are a treatment choice allowing replacement of one or more missing teeth with a fixed replacement that stays in the mouth. Like the crowns above, they can be made of all ceramic, non-metal materials as well as porcelain covered metal to mimic one's natural teeth in both use and appearance.
