Check-Ups & Hygiene
The American Dental Association recommends you see your dentist at least twice each year for a checkup and/or hygiene appointment. Our highly trained team will perform an oral cancer screening, along with a thorough exam, low dose digital films, and photographs to check the tissues as well as the teeth. The dentist of your choice will also look and review the above and together with the hygienist will make a plan that fits with your desires and needs.
During this appointment we will establish a firm foundation and a regular recare interval. By regularly evaluating your health, we can often reduce your potential for larger, more expensive dental issues. For instance, when untreated, gum disease or decay can lead to destruction of an entire tooth, spread to surrounding teeth, and become a threat to one's overall health. Furthermore, advanced gum disease is the primary cause of tooth loss for American adults, and oral cancer causes more deaths per year than skin and cervical cancer combined. Caught and treated early, these diseases have a higher probability of being eliminated. Children as young as two should visit the dentist, and by age four or five, a child should attend regular checkups.
